If the smoke top is made of cherry wood, what keeps it from burning away?

It looks like the smoker top is made of wood. I'm wondering if it'll just burn up after a few months or so. I would like for it to last for quite some time. I love smoked old fashions and would love one of these at home. Much cheaper than at my local bar!

If you follow the instructions printed on the box, or better yet watch the video by scanning the QR code! It will show you how to properly use it. If you use it properly the burn time per cocktail should be about 3-5 seconds, minimizing burning to the SmokeTop itself. We get roughly 500 uses out of each SmokeTop.
